They are born in 1852 and 1851 and I believe they lived in St.Croix County in Wisconsin. John died in 1932 in Baldwin. His name was Andreas Gundersen Kjensjord (Kinnsjordet) and he was married to Lisa Christoffersdatter. They left for America in 1866 on the ship "Anna Delius", and are registered as "bound for Wisconsin" in the ship's list. When they left, they had no children. On the same ship were an unmarried sister of Lisa (Karen Marhea Christoffersdatter) and a brother (Mikal or Mikkel) with his family: Wife: Anne Marie Olsdatter Ringelieneie from Hov in Land, children: Kristian (born 1856), Ole (1858), Hans (1859), Kristiane (1860), Martin (1862) and Anna (1863). Mikal, Lisa and Karen Mathea were born Skaalerud (Østsinni in Land). I have once before asked for this information, but I had at that time ( back in 2001) incorrect information about Lisa. | Comments: | Hello to all! I am very new to geneology, and found your website by doing a search on "Mons Sotendahl", who wrote a history of West Norway Lake Church, Kandiyohi County, MN. My great grandparents were (I believe) charter members, and my mother was born and raised in Norway Lake Township. I found a great resource about WNL Church on the internet, and it has given me precious tidbits about my family. I don't speak Norwegian, so I have a handicap. My great grandfather, Ole Johanesson Rindahl (and wife Elen) came to WNL in 1869, with three children. Although I have many family photos, and some of friends, I have no birth, death, marriage certificates. I would be interested in corresponding with others, although my knowledge is limited. My family used to vacation on the family farm when I was a child, and I attended WNL with my uncle's family and my own. I remember Pastor Olson. Looking through census records brought up many, many familiar names. I have a copy of the WNL centennial record (now Hope Lutheran). My ancestors didn't come from Land, as far as I know, although I did see many references to Land in the WNL book. My folks came from Aure, Mor og Romsdahl and Krodsherred/Sigdal, Buskerud. |

Andersen, was born March 22, 1848 in Sondre Land. The family took the name Johnson when immigrating to the U.S. His parents were Anders Johannesen and Inger Marie Henriksdatter. Have been trying to locate Anders' and Inger's marriage record but have had no success. There's reason to believe that one or both may have been married previously. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who may have information on the above family, especially regarding a ship's passenger list for a ship arriving in Buffalo in June 1853. |

SondreLand around Hov. Hans Hanson Bredviken, his wife Karoline Eide, their children: Anna, Christine, Ole and Hans.They came to USA in 1904. What I have found they lived on Skostad farm.They took the last name of Bredvigen when they came to this country and settled in Blair, Wisconsin, Trempealeau county. informations about a person named Andreas Gundersen Kjensjord. He was
the brother of my great grandfather and emigrated from Torpa in Oppland
county in Norway to USA in 1866 together with his wifw Lisa
Christoffersdatter, born Tollefsrud. They left Oslo on the 5th. of May
1866 on the ship "Anna Delius", probably together with Lisa's brother
Hans Christoffersen Tollefsrud. Accroding to some papers they at first
settled down in Newark Township in Wisconsin near Rock Prairie. Hans
Tollefsrud later moved to Grant, Pocahontas County in Iowa and died in
Rusk Iowa on the 17th. of May 1903. Andreas was born in 1834 and his wife was born in 1837. I am very ineterested in getting into contact with any one who might have any informations about Andreas or possible descendants. I would also like to know if any one could tell med probable changes of his name into a more "american" way of writing. ( I suppose that Andreas may have been changed into Andrew and Gundersen into Gunderson, but what about the name Kjensjord?) As far as I found we are from a farm named Bragstad in Evanger Voss Bergan (forgive the spelling) Another name that comes up associated with this farm is Olav who married Magil they had a son named Knut who married Anna Haugen . from here there is tie-ins to several other names and farms such as Ekse farm andthe last name of Brekke from Bergsdalen. This is all from my mothers side. My fathers side is much less known but I believe it goes back to Huntorp or something simular. Carl Hegg and Touleen Dahl were married and I believe they are my great great grandparents . any help would be greatly apperciated. thank you Jason |
